The Taylor K-1515-A Free & Combined Chlorine (DPD) Specialty Drop Test Kit is a specialty test kit for accurately testing chlorine levels in pools and spas. The K-1515-A tests for Free and Combined Chlorine. Once you have a reading of these levels you can easily determine whether you need to shock or not and whether you need to add or dial down your chlorine feeder. The DPD method will distinguish between free available chlorine and total chlorine. By subtracting the free chlorine reading from the total chlorine reading, the amount of combined chlorine in the water can be known. Combined chlorine is not an effective sanitizer. Its presence causes eye and mucous membrane irritation and the characteristic ?chlorine” odor of a poorly maintained pool. This product already includes case, Sample tube, and 3/4 oz. reagents, R-0003-A, R-0871-A and R-0870-I (10G).
